SOUTH AUSTRALIA BRANCH NEWS
In its efforts to assist all members, the branch will be holding a number of “technical forums” throughout this year to discuss specific issues relating to our industry.
Painting Hot Dipped Galvanised Steel – March
The March meeting was well attended by enthusiastic members keen to review the results of the AISF commissioned testing programme conducted by Akzo Nobel. Members were able to view the test samples first hand, to gain a broader understanding of the problems associated with powder coating Hot Dip Galvanised steel such as; early failure in service and poor adhesion etc.
Powder versus Anodising– May
The next technical forum will be held towards the end of May to discuss the relative benefits of anodising and powder coat alternatives.
Examples will be shown to best illustrate the dual processes. New powder technology has resulted in more options for fabricators and designers than ever before, and will be a meeting not to be missed for all members wishing to keep up to date.
