AISF TRAINING COURSES

APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING FOR SURFACE FINISHING
The AISF in conjunction with Murray Mallee Training Company are offering apprenticeship training to AISF members for apprentices in both electroplating and powder coating.

Apprenticeship training enables participants to receive on successful completion the Certificate III in Engineering - Production Systems (this is equivalent to C10 in the Metal, Engineering & Associated Industries Award)

Training takes the form of both 'on-the-job' and 'off-the-job' training. The 'on-the-job' training is done with a supervisor or manager, and the 'off-the job' training takes place at the AISF office in Collingwood, with an industry expert delivering the training. Training is aligned with the National Metal and Engineering Industry Competency Standards, and on completion a Nationally Recognised and Accredited Statement of results and Certificate is issued.

The apprenticeship training commenced in 2004, and we now have over 50 apprentices undertaking training. The training is paid for by the State Training Board (for eligible employees), and employers may also be able to receive financial incentives from the federal government.

For further information on apprenticeship and traineeship training for the Surface Finishing industry, or to arrange to sign up an employee, please contact the AISF on 03 9416 2222.
