The Australasian Institute of Surface Finishing (AISF) is a not-for-profit member association representing the professional interests of the Australian surface finishing industry, including anodisers, electroplaters, powder coaters and supplier organisations.
AISF brings together industry leaders and specialists, with a strong focus on collaboration with regulators and active engagement with government to drive positive, industry-led change.

EPA IO4 Licencing in Victoria
An AISF Director represents the AISF on the EPA Victoria’s Small Business and Manufacturing consultation group to ensure all our members are kept abreast of any new developments with EPA.

Introduction to Electroplating Online
The Introduction to Electroplating training module was last held by the AISF in the last quarter of 2025 for 6 consecutive weeks on a Friday afternoon from 1-4 pm online via Microsoft Teams with the last session being Friday 28 October, 2025.

Working Safely with Cyanide Online
Our next Working Safely with Cyanide training is on Thursday 18 June from 9.30 - 11.30 am AEST.
The training is online with industry expert Paul Inskip via Microsoft Teams.

2 Day - 10 Principles of Professional Powder Coating In-house
This course provides production line knowledge combined with relevant theory to become a professional powder coater
capable of complying with AS3715 and AS4506.
Please note in the absence of any RTO's offering accredited training in Australia, this is the most comprehensive solution to train your employees.
While there is a practical component to this course, the course is not “Learn to Powder Coat”
The last 10 Principles of Professional Powder Coating module, a 2 Day comprehensive training course run by industry professionals was held on 19 and 20 March, 2026 in VIC.
The training module is held over 2 full packed days and the next VIC session will be held in mid/late September 2026.

Working Safely with Hazardous Chemicals Online
In late 2025, the AISF developd a specialised training module, Working Safely with Hazardous Chemicals. Understanding safe practices is essential for protecting health, safety, and the broader environment.
This training course explores key aspects of safe chemical handling, emphasising the importance of awareness, proper training, and compliance with regulations. Effective chemical management practices play a crucial role in minimizing risks associated with exposure, spills, and accidents.
The training is online via Microsoft Teams from 1–3 pm.
